Adult ADHD signs checklist
ADHD is not only a childhood condition. Many adults were never diagnosed as children. Tick the signs that have been true for you for a long time, not just lately. The list is drawn from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).

Common questions
What are the signs of ADHD in adults?
NIMH describes three groups of signs: trouble paying attention and staying organized, restlessness or too much activity, and acting without thinking, such as interrupting or having trouble waiting.
Can you have ADHD as an adult if you were never diagnosed as a child?
Yes. Many adults were never diagnosed because the signs were missed or they coped until life got busier. But for a diagnosis, symptoms must have started before age 12, show up in two or more settings, and cause real problems.
Can I get ADHD for the first time in older age?
ADHD starts in childhood. If focus or memory changes are new in later life, talk with a doctor, because other causes, like sleep problems, medicines, depression or memory conditions, need to be checked.
