Common questions
What is the best type of journaling for mental health?
There is no single best type. Gratitude lists help you notice good things, worry lists clear your head, thought records untangle unhelpful thinking, and expressive writing helps process hard events. The best one is the one you will keep doing.
How do I start journaling if I've never done it?
Start small: two minutes, a few lines, at the same time each day. Use a notebook or your phone. Don't worry about spelling or writing well. No one else needs to read it.
What is a thought record?
A thought record is a CBT worksheet. You write the situation, your automatic thought, how you felt, the evidence for and against the thought, and a more balanced thought.
