Common questions
What is a coping style?
A coping style is the way you usually respond to stress, such as solving the problem, talking to others, keeping busy, stepping back or calming yourself. Most people use a mix. No style is good or bad on its own; what matters is whether it fits the situation.
Is avoidance always a bad way to cope?
No. A short break can help you recover. Avoidance becomes a problem when it lasts and the issue grows, or when it keeps you from things that matter to you. Small, gentle steps toward the problem usually help.
Is this a psychological test?
No. It is a short reflection quiz, not a validated test or a diagnosis. If stress is hard to manage, a doctor or counselor can help.
