What's your attachment style?

Attachment theory looks at how we bond with the people closest to us. Researchers often describe four patterns: secure, anxious, avoidant and fearful. This is a light, fun version for reflection. It is not the validated research questionnaire (the ECR), and nobody fits one box. Patterns can change at any age.

Just for reflection and learning — not a test or a diagnosis.

Common questions

What are the four attachment styles?

Researchers often describe secure, anxious (sometimes called preoccupied), avoidant (dismissive) and fearful (fearful-avoidant). They are patterns on a sliding scale, not boxes, and most people show a mix.

Is this a real attachment style test?

No. It is a light, fun quiz for reflection. Researchers use validated questionnaires such as the Experiences in Close Relationships (ECR) scale. This quiz is not that, and it is not a diagnosis.

Can your attachment style change?

Yes. Attachment patterns can shift over a lifetime through caring relationships, life experience and counseling. It is never too late to feel more secure.
