How do you see yourself?
Ten statements from the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, written by sociologist Morris Rosenberg in 1965 and still the most used measure of self-esteem. It asks how you feel about yourself overall, not about any one skill.

Common questions
What is a normal self-esteem score?
The University of Maryland, which keeps the scale, says there is no official cut-off. Most people score in the middle range. Use it to notice change over time.
Can self-esteem be improved?
Yes. Self-compassion practice, catching harsh self-talk (a CBT skill) and doing things that match your values all help. Low self-esteem that comes with low mood is worth checking too.
